Hi ! Happy Thursday everyone. I hope you are finding ways to #thrive today but if it is a #surviving kind of day that is also completely ok. Our progress really depends on the day, doesn’t it. Today is a self-care kind of day for me. Fighting a cold, fighting low energy, and wanting to be at my best for my clients. Do you know how I plan to accommodate my needs today? By doing my best to nail it during my session today and then giving myself permission to relax and recuperate tonight. I will take plans off the table, I will heat up leftovers rather than cook, and I will run a soothing bath instead of cleaning the kitchen (sorry hubby!) 🤣. Make today what you need it to be. Be gentle, be kind, be compassionate, be accommodating.

How about you try this? Instead of feeding it bon bons why not try starving that critic voice? How about you stop giving it any attention at all and choose to go on your merry way. Towards your goals. Towards your dreams. Towards your best life. Screw that guy.

We all have our happy place, right? It’s a key piece of the wellness pie, seeking out the places that bring us joy. One of mine happy places is a cozy room with a roaring fire and ideally a moose. Moose are my spirit animal (is that a thing?) So, it doesn’t matter how grumpy I am, if you put me in the vicinity of moose I am . Did you make an effort to find your happy place yet this weekend? Where is it? As an aside, I am at a gun range. I shot one bullet and ran out. (Gun range is apparently not my happy place. But the moose is here so it’s still )

Oh mylanta, what a climb it feels like today. Definitely can’t see the peak from here, but choosing to believe it exists ahead. My body is tired, crampy, uncomfortable, grumpy. And physical energy and health play a major role in our ability to move towards our goals, don’t they? On days when we feel tired, sluggish, low energy, it makes the climb feel much more challenging than the same climb would feel on a high energy day. I am walking this walk alongside you all and will always do my best to share my highs and lows with you, to help inspire you to not feel alone on this journey. What helps me on days like today is to slow down, honor the limitations I am experiencing, and to accommodate them without losing sight of the destination. For example, I went for a workout today that felt dreadful. But I chose to show up because it aligns with my goals AND gave my permission to not feel psyched about the workout and to be a bit more gentle on myself in terms of performance expectations. In other words, I tended to my needs by making a compromise. And this compromise allowed me to stay on course as opposed to letting my crampy body drive my bus completely. Make sense? Honor and accommodate, with deliberate and intentional choices.

Good morning Valentines! I woke up this morning feeling so grateful for all of the love in my life. And I hope you all take a moment to pause and reflect on this too. The love I’ve been feeling today goes two ways- I feel grateful for the love from my friends and my kiddos, my husband and my parents.... But I also feel grateful for the love I give- the love I have for others, for my practice, for my clients. Believing that my clients are 100% capable of change and creating the lives they desire is a form of love that I share with them. I am the one who believes in them when they can’t see beyond their flaws, fears, and failures. I wish for you all a happy day filled with gratitude and love, whether you are receiving it or giving it.

No challenge no change. I know you all know this, rationally, but it takes MANY reminders to really get it to sink in. Embrace the change, the challenge, the discomfort. Do you realize that if you simply do this then there’s no stopping you?!

Happy Monday! We’re at it again folks, the week begins. Finished my workout grabbed my delicious orange ginger/green tea and it’s time to get some work done. I haven’t posted much this week and I spent a bit of time reflecting on that. I was so excited about the @rimonthly article but after the overwhelming support and enthusiasm from all of you amazing friends I crawled back into my shell. The attention felt like too much and I became shy and wanted to hide. It led me to think about how tricky marketing your business really can be. I sometimes find myself resenting the fact that I have to post about myself and my life, when one of the things I loved about the career I chose was how private it is. I can hide behind closed doors and do my best work without people watching or listening. It was only meant for us two. But now that I am expanding this practice to serve a greater community there are parts of it that go against the grain for me. The pressure to consistently post, the personal details of my life that are being shared with the world, even the support. It’s challenging in a way that is encouraging me to grow, to spread my wings. But, it’s not natural for me. So, thank you for rolling with and supporting my inconsistent posts 🤣 and my countless selfies. And if I hide for a couple of days just know I’ll be back to continue supporting all of you along your journey! ️ Make it a great week!

That’s it. Stop. Recognize the habits and patterns that are not in the name of your growth, goals, or happiness, and cut them out. Replace them with healthy alternatives, habits that add value to your life. Behaviors that steer your towards your goals and are based in line with your values. It’s as simple as that.

Always. There is always a fork in the road that provides you the opportunity to choose which way you’re going to go. The path of least resistance, of comfort, of familiarity, of habit. Or the path of change and growth, which may feel challenging but is the only path that actually leads you in the direction of your goals. You always have the power to choose, don’t forget it.

This ! got me thinking. So many women come to me seeking answers- how to feel better, manage their stress, balance work + home, get motivated, feel fulfilled. And the one thing they don’t realize is that they have the answers already inside of them. I am your guide, your accountability partner; I clear the brush ahead of you so you can continue on your journey. It turns out that women are actually often seeking permission. Permission to say yes to themselves and no to others. Permission to live lives they are passionate about vs catering solely to the needs of others in their world. So, hear this. I grant you permission- and I hope you grant yourself permission too. It’s not until we believe we are worthy and deserving of our best lives that the dominos begin to fall in the direction we desire. I am here to reassure you, to prove your critic wrong, to shed light on the path that you want to travel down. But you must give yourself permission first! Do this now. Right now. And see how your thoughts and your behaviors shift as a result. You can live your best life, you just have to let yourself go for it.

That’s all you need to know tonight. Stop overthinking and complicating everything in your head. Start doing- one foot in front of the other until you get into that healthy stride you’re looking for. The more time you spend in your head the less time you spend improving your life.

Happy Monday! I am taking a few minutes to set my intentions for the week. More sleep, less work. More relaxation, less rushing. More focus on being present, less giving in to distraction. Have you given your goals and your dreams five minutes of your time today? Aren’t they worth it? I believe it is time for you to start living your best life. And I belief you absolutely can make that happen. #mondaygoals

You know it’s gonna be a good day when you match your smoothie 🤣. My favorite shade of pink brightens my day and makes me smile. Sound silly? Perhaps. However, most of the time we’re waiting for the big things in life to celebrate or to smile over. The problem is that we may be waiting for awhile.... Happiness (sustainable happiness anyway) is NOT about waiting for those big moments, it’s about noticing the little things. Practicing gratitude, seeking out the small reasons to smile and celebrate each day. Stop looking so high and lower your gaze. The reasons to be happy are right in front of you- as are the reasons to keep growing and working towards your goals. Just take a look and you’ll see. Happy #superbowl #sunday !!

We constantly resist change and discomfort. At yoga yesterday I would notice that when I was really uncomfortable in a pose my big toe would start to wiggle. 🤣 I witnessed my body resisting the discomfort by distracting itself. We do this all the time. When we don’t like how something feels we quit, we distract, we split ourselves. And this only keeps us stuck. What would happen if we embraced the discomfort of challenge and change? If we noticed the resistance and reminded ourselves that there is a reality beyond it. A world of growth, progress, and success. Stop letting your resistance get in the way of moving forward. Notice it, embrace it, and keep going!

Oh holy thoughts. Sometimes I’m shocked by their power, aren’t you? As I was getting ready for yoga this morning my head kept telling me “Don’t bother, what’s the point?” It told me to stay home where I’m comfortable, safe, and warm. As my body was physically moving in the direction of getting ready for the class my mind just kept at it. They followed me all the way to class, and through class. Class felt harder to me today. My mind added a layer of crap that my body didn’t need. But it felt good to know that I could choose to observe those thoughts without allowing them to derail me. Without letting them drive my bus. Even though I was glad I persevered I didn’t enjoy the class as much because my mind was playing some powerful tricks on me. Know this: even if you don’t get the pleasure you ideally want to from something it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have done it. Like the weather, our moods shift all the time. Sometimes we experience great enjoyment from fun activities and sometimes we don’t. That’s ok. What matters is the intention behind your choice.

Playing it safe is what keeps us stuck. Let’s face it. We don’t like the discomfort and the risk involved with change so we stay the same. And complain. And complain some more. I get it. Trust me. But it might be worth noticing when that pattern no longer serves you. When it is actually a disservice to you. You have to take the risk in order to change, to grow, to reach goals. And you have to want your ideal life badly enough to fight for it- it will not be handed to you. So, this weekend, get out there and fight for it. Make that small tweak that will create the shift necessary for the dominos to start falling where you want them to. It takes one action. One thought. And? Yes you can.
